    Giuliano’s Classic Italian Tomato Sauce

    Giuliano’s Classic Italian Tomato Sauce is made in small batches with imported D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes. It is the sweet luscious tomato sauce that was Giuliano’s favorite as a child. “As powerful as Proust’s Madeleine, my mother’s sauce unfailingly elicits feelings of comfort and well-being.” Vegetarian and gluten free, this delicious sauce is made with just four ingredients: tomatoes, onion, butter, and sea salt. Its rich, concentrated flavor makes one jar more than enough for a pound of pasta. It is also delicious served with meats, vegetables, and seafood.  Shrimp or scallops are wonderful cooked in the sauce. Heat half a jar of sauce in a pan and when it begins to bubble add a pound of peeled shrimp or scallops. Cook until seafood is done, usually just a few minutes, and serve.

        Giuliano’s Classic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

        Giuliano’s Classic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made by Giovanni Salvagno, an artisanal olive oil producer of the Veneto since 1923. It is made with carefully selected indigenous olives grown in the hills east of Verona, an oasis for growing olive trees that is shielded from the cold northerly winds by the Alps and tempered by Lake Garda to the west. In late fall the olives are picked by hand and gently pressed to produce a high quality cold pressed extra virgin olive oil that is very low in acidity. Its smooth well balanced aromatic flavor will enhance any salad, vegetable, pasta, or entrée.

            Giuliano’s Classic Red Wine Vinegar

            Giuliano’s Classic Red Wine Vinegar is imported in collaboration with Marilisa Allegrini, famed producer of noble red wines, who supervises its production. Made with Valpolicella wine, this incomparable, rich vinegar is aged in brandy oak barrels for up to 36 months.

                Giuliano’s Classic Carnaroli Rice

                A rice like no other, for a risotto like no other. Carnaroli rice is considered the prince of risotto rices. This is no ordinary Carnaroli rice, however. It is produced by Riseria Gazzani, a family run artisanal rice mill south of Verona which has been in operation since 1648. This extraordinary rice is handmade with the same mortar and pestles used since 1648. The result is a nutty, flavorful rice perfect for risotto that is unlike any machine processed rice.                     Giuliano’s Classic Dried Wild Porcini Mushrooms

                    Giuliano’s mother would always buy these when they were available at the one specialty store in Venice that carried them. Just a few will endow even cultivated white mushrooms with the rich flavor of porcini. Packaged by the fourth generation of the Pagnan family, renowned mushroom experts of the Veneto. Soak in lukewarm water at least 30 minutes before using and incorporate the richly flavored soaking water in your recipe. Available in 50 gram and 20 gram packages. Store in the refrigerator or freezer for maximum freshness.
