Recently Linda Wertheimer interviewed Victor and Marcella Hazan at their home on Longboat Key for NPR’s Morning Edition series  the Long View.  The interviewer not only knew of their work but had thoroughly researched their autobiography Amarcord.  Marcella and Victor shared how they began cooking and their first food experiences in America. I never saw a supermarket in Italy,” she tells NPR’s Linda Wertheimer. “The chicken, they were arriving from the farmer and they were alive. And at the supermarket they were very dead; they were wrapped; it was like a coffin. Everything was not natural.”
